SHOFU EYECAM SUPPORT
Thank you for purchasing the EYCAM from SHOFU!
Please find links to the installation instructions and System Tray Utility required for capture button functionality below:
While these instructions should cover the basics to get the camera detected and working in Microsoft Windows using their free Windows Camera App, additional steps will be required to configure the device to work within specific dental imaging programs. If additional support is required to make our device work within your dental imaging program, please contact that software developer’s tech support team or your IT Professional directly.
If Live Video cannot be displayed from the camera in the dental imaging program then hardware acceleration may need to be turned off. Some programs like Eaglesoft and DEXIS 10 have a checkbox inside of their settings window, but many other programs do not. In these cases, you can use the DirectX Properties Tool to turn this off by clearing the “Use Hardware Acceleration” checkbox on the DirectDraw tab. You can download the DirectX Properties Tool here:
For additional keyboard shortcuts that might be used in DentCapture as “Custom Settings” to make the camera’s physical button actually send the appropriate commands over to your dental imaging program, please refer the the following chart:
Almost every dental imaging program on the market supports direct integration of video capture devices, so the instructions and tools above should be all that are needed to properly configure the camera. However, in the rare cases where your dental imaging program does not support direct integration of video capture devices, and instead requires that they be configured using a TWAIN interface, you can find our free TWAIN Driver Setup installer here:
If you still need our help getting the camera set up correctly, we are happy to provide free, remote tech support for one computer, per camera, which should take about 15 minutes to complete. Any extra computers will take an additional 15 minutes or so to complete and will cost $25 per workstation. All support appointments include thorough testing and training by our technicians. Any reasonable support requests for cameras that were installed within the last 14 days are still included at no charge. Additional support requests for cameras which we previously installed and tested to be working properly after 14 days will be billed at the rate of $25 per fifteen minutes, which comes to $100 for every hour.
If needed, please feel free to take advantage of our complimentary and paid remote, tech support options by booking an appointment using one of the two choices below. During the day of the tech support appointment, you will need to download and run our Splashtop SOS agent and provide the technician with the 9 digit code it generates in order from them to access your computer remotely.
